We’ve all heard that there are no secrets in a small community. Try as you might. There’s a reason for that – our stories are what binds us together. We share tales of grandparents and report the goings on of neighbours. We’re curious about one another and what we might be getting up to. We lend our couches to cousins who are moving out for the first time. We hand down clothes at the weekly swap meet. We help each other.
As technology advances we have new ways to share. You might “post” that photo of your husband playing “grease monkey” and ruining the car, “tweet” how your youngest is stuck on the teeter totter again or “pin” the fireplace you always wanted. Meanwhile, your friends and family are doing the same.
We focus on organic, human interaction to not just build community, but to participate in existing communities. We strive to build a site that reflects you.
The fancy term is “social commerce”, but really it’s something we’ve all been doing our whole lives. During those big life moments; when you pack up the family and move to another province for a new job, when money is tight and you need to sell your motorbike to pay your daughter’s tuition or when you’re expecting a baby and the endless amount of toys and clothes they’re going to need. We buy and sell in our own backyards, neighborhoods and communities.
Our Community Angels are always out and about in their local neighbourhoods. Visit our events page to find out where we’re popping up next!
