Maker Faire comes to Vancouver Island this weekend where local ‘Makers’ and DIY’ers will show off their creativity and innovations
Victoria, BC – July 26, 2012
Maker Faire’s have become a worldwide phenomenon, with events scheduled in Europe, Asia and North America, including the World Maker Faire this Sept in NYC. This will be the first Maker Faire on Vancouver Island. Local Makers and Do-it-Yourselfers will be given the chance to demonstrate their creativity and innovations to a Vancouver Island audience of Maker communities (crafters, inventors, engineers, hobbyists and the like).
A ‘Maker’ can be any person or group who invents, designs, creates, and/or builds objects or information systems with the goal of learning, teaching, inspiring, or improving the state of the world.
UsedEverywhere.com is encouraging these ‘Makers’ and DIY’ers to use this site to find materials, objects, clothing, furniture etc. that they might be able to turn into something special with their skills and creativity. There is a free section on every UsedEverywhere.com site where Makers can find items for their projects without spending a dime.
